First Flush No. 1
Sunday, June 21, 2026 · 10am – 4pm
AREA 405, 405 E Oliver St, Baltimore, MD 21202
AREA 405 and Stone Chamber Collective presented First Flush, an ambient techno series taking over the warehouse on a Sunday morning — the debut edition ran June 21, 2026, from 10am to 4pm, introducing three resident DJs, Sovar, MÅNG, and KLIX, to Baltimore's electronic music scene.
In recent years, younger generations in China have explored ways of combining underground club culture with drug-free, health-oriented lifestyles rooted in 养生 (yǎng shēng, "holistic well-being"). First Flush brought that lineage into a Baltimore warehouse — ceremonial tea, a sofa lounge, and techno in daylight — reclaiming daytime public space for the queer and subcultural communities that have long shaped the underground scene.
Guests brought books, sketchpads, and laptops to the lounge throughout the day. The event also served as a tribute to Pride Month, honoring electronic music's deep roots in LGBTQIA+ communities and the Black, Indigenous, and other communities of color who shaped the genre — in partnership with Club Car, a queer-owned bar in the North Avenue Market, which sold non-alcoholic drinks on site.
MÅNG (live) — Interactive art techno
SOVAR — Ambient techno
KLIX — High-energy set
